LB Photoshoot

So our day will start off at the Cal State Long Beach Pyramid. Why perhaps? Because the pyramid has the most convenient parking situation and the most visually open shooting environment. Meaning if any of you come late, it won’t be hard to find us in the open field around the pyramid. We’ll be parking on the street in between Merriam Way and Palo Verde on Atherton Street. Directions are 405 north exit palo verde, left on exit. If your on the 405 south, exit palo verde, right on the exit. Right on Atherton, park on the right side, or make a uturn at Merriam way and park in front of the pyramid.

After shooting there or on the campus for a little bit, we can make our way to the 2nd street naples canals. Going down Atherton again making a left on Bellflower, a left on Pacific Coast Highway, and a right on 2nd street.

Continue here and make a left on Toledo/Sorrento Drive (which is right before the 2nd bridge. Follow it as it curves and make a right onto Neapolitan Lane. Follow it down and stay on the left and make a left onto Florence Walk where we will be parking. It’s a great nice neighborhood so no worries here. We’ll be walking around the canals, over the bridge we drove over into a really nice park along a T split canal with a bunch of palm trees. It’s a beautiful area and you’ll all love it. We can explore more but we should probably leave and find some food by 5 or 6 ish at the latest. 2nd street has great food or we can go to roscoes.

Eventually We’ll go back down 2nd street the way we came and backtrack to Pacific Coast Highway. This time make a left on 7th street and take that all the way down to Long Beach Blvd. Left on Long Beach Blvd. Right on Ocean. Left on Pine Ave. You’ll be passing the huge steps of the convention center on the left and Long Beach Pike on the right. Make a right on Shoreline Drive. A Left on Aquarium Way. Follow it around the circle turn about and make a left at the first chance you get (which is still aquarium way). Follow it behind the Aquarium of the Pacific and you’ll find a parking lot on the left, which is absolutely safe and free. ☺

This is Shoreline park, a peninsula surrounded by water and bay. The lighthouse has a long winding road leading up to it and palm trees that go on forever. There are also fisherman piers, jetty rocks, and a perfect long shot of the Queen mary on the other side and the multi colored bridge that lights up at night (we’ll be back here before we go back to our cars for the night shot of this).

After the lighthouse and the Queen Mary scenery we can walk up the east end up the sidewalk bay north towards the ferris wheel, roller coaster bridge, the pike, and the convention center. If we continue north we can enter downtown long beach and shoot the busy street life. We can find some food here also if you’d like. We can also walk down ocean or pine ave. As we walk back hopefully the sun will be down and we can get some good shots at shoreline village and the bridge we saw earlier.

If time allows and its before 10PM, we can get back into our cars and head over to the last stop: Signal Hill’s Hilltop Park, just up 7th street again, left on cherry, and a right on skyline drive. The park closes at 10pm and SH police are really strict on curfew. So we gotta be out by 10, but you don’t wanna miss the skyline shot of Long Beach and ultimately, the greater LA/OC area. If you haven’t been there yet, you’re gonna wanna see it.

That pretty much concludes the night, If all goes according to plan, you shouldn’t have to worry about meters, (unless we go to 2nd street to eat), or paying for parking. Everywhere were going is pretty safe, downtown Long Beach is the only place I’d worry a little bit about, but there will be a lot of tourists walking around anyway on a Saturday evening. Make sure you have enough money for food and drink and bring really comfy shoes. Don’t forget to accessorize ☺

I hope this helps as the most convenient and affordable way to hit up all these spots. Can’t wait! P.S Afterwards, lets grub at Fantastics near signal hill park ☺

Thanks
